HBTU formerly known as HBTI was established in the year 1920. But as per the Act No. 11 of 2016, the Government of Uttar Pradesh declared HBTI as the university by renaming it to HBTU. While earlier HBTI used to intake students through UPSEE but now HBTU will intake students through JEE-Main exam.

Tuition for the year is around 98000/- approximately. But the good point is that you can claim the scholarship depending upon your family income or fee waiver depending upon your marks.
The campus is divided into two parts. The East Campus spreads across 77 acres while the West Campus occupies approximately 271 acres. Both the campuses are separated by 3 kms. There are a lot of facilities within the campus premises for the student. It boasts of Central Library, Guest House, Post Office, Gymnasium, Bank, Health Centre, Incubation Centre etc.
HBTU offers good placement but it varies with the branch. The placement records are almost 100% for the Chemical Engineering branches while Electric/Electronic/IT Engineering branches are not far behind with approximately 70-80% placement. While other branches recorded 60% placement. This is not a hidden fact that companies like Microsoft had visited the college a couple of times. There are students who have cracked package in double digits as well.
