KNIT earlier known as Kamla Nehru Institute of Science and Technology was established in the year 1973 but later in 1983, it changed its name to KNIT. It is a state government funded institute affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. It ranks among the top engineering institutes under AKTU.

Fees structure

The fees for the year for different branches of B.tech student is as per the AICTE norms i.e. approx. 75000 for non-IT and for IT students it is approx. 90000. If your family income is less than 2 Lakh, the institute also reimburses your fees by Samaj Kalyan Vibhag after the student submits the requisite form. Campus Facilities

KNIT possess a 100-acre campus. The institute has 10 Boys’ and 3 Girls’ hostels. The in-campus facilities also comprise of Dispensary, Bank, Post Office, Canteen, Guest House. The guest house is for guest professors and guardians of students residing on the campus. Each department in the college has its own block while they also have different blocks for carrying out various co-curricular and non-co-curricular activities.

Placements

KNIT has a very good placement record. The college not only offers placement assistance to students but also interacts with companies to visit the college. The college has a full-fledged Placement & Training cell. Not only MNCs like Infosys, Wipro, Adobe, Accenture, L&T visits the campus but also Indian Army and Navy visits the campus for hiring the talent. The college has a very strong Alumni base which helps in Placement, branding as well as advertisement. KNIT offers 100 % placement assistance to their students.  The college train students for the overall development so as to make them industry ready.
